BMW-2020-New.pngHow to Replace an audi key replacement G28 Engine Speed Sensor

In this video, Charles the humble mechanic demonstrates how to replace the G28 engine speed sensor. This sensor is located near the edges of the transmission just above the flywheel ring gear. It sends a message to the ECU via a grey wire T55/49, then to the tachometer in the instrument cluster.

1. Engine Speed Sensor

The grey wire is located on the outside of the transmission, above the flywheel ring. The sensor sends an electrical signal through the grey wire to pin T55/49. The ECU then utilizes this information to regulate the boost, fuel, and timig. It also sends an indication to the G5 tachometer inside the instrument cluster.

The sensor serves as a reference for comparing with the G40 Camshaft Position Sensor. The ecu has to be aware of when the crankshaft has reached TDC and also the position of the camshaft, in order to activate the spark and injectors.

If this sensor fails when it fails, the ECU will display an error code P00160. This means that the Crank Shaft is out of line with the Intake Camshaft. It could also indicate a chain stretch or a jump in the chain link of the upper chain of timing. The code won't appear without the additional information provided by other sensors (G4 or G40).

It is a little tricky to test as there are various pins on the connector and they all have different functions. The best way to do it is by measuring the resistance between the ECU and the sensor. When the sensor is operational, it should read approximately 1000 ohms. If you are having problems with this sensor, look for signs of oil or coolant in the connector bay.

2. Injectors

Yesterday, as i was accelerating off the highway paytoll at a high speed I noticed a significant decrease in power. It was like the engine was running out of gas. Or, my injectors weren't firing. In the morning, i removed the spark plugs, three were drenched with gazoline the 4th one was dry. When I crank the engine with no sparks, I put a piece of tissue on top of each injector hole, the 3 drenched with gazoline pop out, but the 4th stays shut. I tested the ground connection on ECU pins 14/55, 30/55 and 48/55. i get 0ohm. I assume that the problem is elsewhere.

I also tried to reset the PID but without success. The car key cover audi will start when the G28 is unplugged, and it works fine when the G28 connected. However, the intermittent misfire problem continues to occur at higher RPM. The coolant sensor (G62) even if it is not plugged in, shows a temperature of -49c. I also noticed that the oil gauge in the cockpit shows 2 bar when the actual pressure is 0.

I don't know what to do. I believe that I've all other possibilities out. However, i'm afraid that I might have missed something. Please let me know If you have any suggestions! TIA!

3. Fuel Pump

The fuel pump in the g28 receives a signal from the RPM sensor. The GM-style transmitter functions similarly to the G4 sender and works on the 80,100,200, UrS, and RS2 vehicles. You can easily find the spare in a salvage shop or a parts store. It is simple to test them: simply put your DMM into resistance mode and determine the distance between pins 1 and 2 (with the bump on the connector's edge facing up). They must be infinite Ohms.

4. ECU

The ECU of our 20vt turbo (3B AAN ABY) engines needs to know both the position and speed of the crankshaft in order to make a decision about fuel injector timing, etc. It uses a Crank Position Sensor G4 and an Engine Speed Sensor G28 to accomplish this. If you have a problem with either of these, the diagnostic scanner will show the codes that could trigger an engine shutdown.

A failing G28 sensor can cause an inaccurate speed counter for the gearbox, a gearbox that shifts more quickly than normal, and/or a misfire while in the gear. If you experience any of these problems, it is likely that your sensor is deteriorating and needs replacing. They're cheap and easy to find, especially if they're a Bosch sensor like ours. You can also choose the GM version of this unit is also a great option.

5. Tachometer

A malfunctioning engine speed sensor could be the cause of many issues with your vehicle. It's an essential component of your audi keys smart key replacement audi key (their website)'s transmission, because it communicates to the ECU about how fast or slow the car's crankshaft is spinning. If this sensor fails, it can disrupt the performance of the transmission, as well as the other car's components.

The G5 engine speed sensor is located at the edge of the transmission above the flywheel ring gear. It sends a signal directly to the ECU at pin T55/49, via a grey wire. The ECU then processes this signal to control fuel, timig and boost and then sends it on to the G5 Tachometer located in the instrument cluster. You can test the sensor for failure by checking continuity between it and the tachometer, between the ECU pin T55/49 and the instrument cluster connection to pin T6a/1 (trace [79trace [79]) as well as between T6a/1, and the instrument cluster pin T26a/12. You should detect a resistance of approximately 1000 ohms between these points. This is a typical part that is found across the replacement audi key 80 100 200, UrS and RS2 range from 1985 MC to the 1997 UrS AAN and 1995 RS2 ADU so good ones might be availble in wrecking yards.happy-smiling-woman-with-car-key-driving-2022-11-17-00-15-14-utc-min-scaled.jpg
